Easy Family Meal Ideas – Meal Plans For November!

Here are some easy family meal ideas and meal plans for the entire month of November that will make it easier feeding your family for less and spend less time in the kitchen! These are easy and delicious comfort food recipes designed to make the most of less work! We’ve made it easy for you with these family meal plans and recipes!

Here are some easy family meal ideas and meal plans for the entire month of November that will make it easier feeding your family for less and spend less time in the kitchen! These are easy and delicious comfort food recipes designed to make the most of less work! We've made it easy for you with these family meal plans and recipes!

Easy Family Meal Ideas – Meal Plans For November!

This meal plan for November takes you all the through the month with plenty of leftovers for Thanksgiving! Each day includes links to the recipes listed in the meal plan. Feel free to adapt and modify the meals according to your family’s preferences. For more great meal ideas and recipes, be sure to check out our cookbooks!

Day 1

Use chili leftover from Halloween to make this tasty chili pie.

If you have a lot of leftover M&M candies, you can use those in place of the chocolate chips in the chocolate chip cookies in this meal plan.

If you need to stretch the Chili Pie a little, add some of those leftover mixed veggies you have been saving in your freezer.

Light and Easy Fruit Salad
Best Ever Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Day 2

Here’s a good casserole recipe for leftover hot dogs. What better way to use up those leftover hot dog octopus treats you made for Halloween?

Reuben Dog Casserole
boiled potatoes
dill pickles, carrot sticks, celery sticks
rye bread or some crusty bread
red candy applesauce (add 1/4-1/2 cup leftover red cinnamon candies to a large jar of applesauce)

Day 3

Pizza
tossed salad
bread sticks
Pumpkin Crunch Dessert

Day 4

Save some of today’s brisket for hearty sandwiches for tomorrow and for the vegetable soup the next day.

Brisket With Cranberry Sauce
Mashed Potatoes
Garden Vegetable Salad
Chocolate Covered Cherry Cake

Day 5

Hearty Brisket Sandwiches
(made with crusty bread – use store bought bread or make our homemade French bread*)
tomatoes, tettuce and all your favorite fixings
chips
Tropical Fruit Salad

 

WEEK 2

Day 1

Add some leftover diced brisket to this soup during the last 15 minutes.

Vegetable Soup
assortment of crackers
Apples and Caramel Apple Dip

Day 2

Save some chicken from today for tomorrow’s meal.

Maple Glazed Chicken
rice
baked butternut squash
peas
dinner rolls

Day 3

Chicken Tacos
Tomato, Mozzarella and Avocado Salad
chips
No Bake Ice Box Cake

Day 4

Spanish Rice and Franks
steamed broccoli
sliced tomatoes, carrots and celery sticks
Dessert Kabobs

Day 5

Sour Cream Chili Bake
corn chips
grapes
Ice Cream In Tortillas

 

WEEK 3

Day 1

Mini Hamburgers
baked onion rings
Mushroom Spinach Salad
tater tots
Rocky Road Brownies

Day 2

Mexicali Pork Chops
boiled potatoes
green beans
Cottage Cheese Salad
Easy Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

Day 3

Chow Mein Hot Dish
sliced kiwi and oranges
sugar snap peas

 

Day 4 – THANKSGIVING

(Save some turkey for the next couple of days’ dinners. Save the carcass to freeze to use to make turkey soup in a couple of weeks.)

THANKSGIVING DINNER (Pick and choose your family’s favorites from this list.)

Turkey
Stuffing (Dressing)
Gravy
Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes or Sweet Potato Casserole
Broccoli Salad 
Green Bean Casserole
dinner rolls or crescent rolls
relish dish
Deviled Eggs
Jello
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Apple Pie 
Chocolate Pie
Ice Tea
water
hot tea
coffee

Day 5

Give mom a break day! Set out all the leftovers and let it be every man for himself, with leftover turkey sandwiches, warmed up turkey and stuffing – everyone can have his or her own favorite!

Day 6

After Thanksgiving, we normally spend time socializing together and we re-warm and heat the thanksgiving leftovers as we feel like eating them over the net couple days. In case you prefer a more structured meal plan, I went ahead and added day 6 and 7 this week to use those Thanksgiving leftovers!

Ranch Turkey Pasta Dinner
tossed salad (made with any leftover veggies from the relish dish – carrot sticks, celery, broccoli, cauliflower)
Cheese Toast
leftover pie

Day 7

In today’s pot pie, you can use leftover gravy from Thanksgiving and also carrots or peas if you have those left over. It’ also a great way to use any leftover pie crust you may have.

Turkey Pot Pie

White Gingerbread Cake

 

Week 4

Day 1

Tired of turkey but still have some leftover cranberry sauce? This meal plan is perfect for a change of pace and yet you can still use those leftovers.

Cranberry Chops
baked potato
Mama’s Pea Salad
Biscuits (2 ingredient biscuits)
chocolate pudding with whipped topping

Day 2

Hamburger Casserole
tossed salad
bread, butter and jam
Easy Lave Cake

Day 3

Crockpot Stuffed Green Peppers
sliced oranges
Farm House Bread (or one of your favorite store bought crusty bread)
Peppermint Cupcakes

Day 4

Make plenty of rice and use the leftover rice for tomorrow’s dessert. Also save some chicken for tomorrows meal.

Best Ever Roast Sticky Chicken
rice
steamed broccoli
Red Hot Candy Apples (these are sliced, not on a stick and easy to make)

Day 5

Easy Chicken and Dumplings
mixed veggies
Coconut Raisin Rice Pudding
