Has anyone tried making the self-rising flour substitute with gluten free all purpose flour?
Hanna
Did you try it!? I’d love to know the results!
Delia
What if you don’t have a stand up mixer, can you hand mix and for how long
Jill
Delia it is really a myth that you need a stand up mixer for cooking. I have been cooking for 60 yrs and am a cookbook author and have never owned a stand up mixer. I personally really hate them because they are so much working cleaning them and the mess they make. Tawra did a video making this and she just hand stirred it. You can get it stir up and ready to roll out just in the amount of time it would take to get a stand mixer out it is so easy. Easy 2 ingredient Dough Recipes video
Laura
I always hand mix, I just mix till all mixed together. You will be able to tell. Very easy, I always make my pizzas with this dough
Judy
Can you just bake a loaf of bread with the Two Ingredient Dough? at what temperature?
Jill
You can make like an artisans bread with this. Then you would bake at about 450 degrees for about 30 mins. You may have to watch it and test it the first time depending on your oven etc.
Robyn
Really excited to make these recipes!
Thank you for the substitution ingredients for the 1 cup of self rising flour. I see the recipe calls for 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons of self rising flour. Using the substitution ingredients, would I have to make 2 cups of self-rising flour and use only 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons of it?
Thank you.
Jill
I think you could get by with making 1 cup of self rising and then just add the extra 2 Tbsp. in regular flour. What happens is often recipes are rewritten from other countries that use metric so that is why it is an odd measurement. In this case it really shouldn’t make a difference like I said.
Dessie
Can you make the dough and refrigerator it?
Jill
I am not sure Dessie because it is so simple I have never had to but I think you can because it is just like the pizza you dough you buy at the grocery store in the package like canned biscuits.
Laura
Yes, I have refrigerated it and even made pizzas and then froze them. An easy pull for something quick
Rhonda M Kaake
Do you have to let this dough set for a while to let rise before making the cinnamon rolls it didnt say anything of this
Jill
This dough doesn’t have yeast in it so you don’t let them rise.
Linae
Love this recipe that can be so easily changed.
I’d love to know how I can buy your cookbooks.

Kathy
I just made this dough for pizza tonight. It was so sticky that I had to add another 3/4 cup of flour so it would hold together and not be a sticky mess on my fingers. It’s rolled out on a Silpat and waiting in the fridge to be made into pizza later. Did anyone else find it was very very sticky with only 1 cup + 2 Tbsp flour?
Laura
Yes, but I just put a little flour on the counter and spray rolling pun and all good
Laura
Rolling pin
