Save Money At After Halloween Sales

After Halloween sales can be a great time to pick up a few things at a discount that can help you save for other occasions. Here are a few tips to help you!

After Halloween sales can be a great time to pick up a few things at a discount that can help you save for other occasions. Here are a few tips to help you!

Save Money At After Halloween Sales

Don’t forget to go to the after Halloween sales to get some great bargains on candy and other items. You can get many other things at after Halloween sales besides candy:

  • Packages of little toys for party favors.
  • Cupcake wrappers. Cupcake cups with pumpkins can be used all the way through Thanksgiving and if it is just for your family, most kids don’t mind if their cupcakes have a pumpkin wrapper on it, even in January.
  • Candles and candle holders
  • Napkins and disposable tablecloths

Do you have a graduation coming at the end of the school year and the school colors include black? Buy your plates, napkins, streamers and party favors now. Look for bargains on these types of products after every holiday. If the school colors are red, you can find great stuff after Christmas or Valentine’s Day, silver after New Year’s Eve, green after St. Patrick’s day and so on.

Get costumes for next year or pick up odds and ends if your kids like play acting or drama. We always kept a costume box. It had a lot of basics, including a black cape, sword, cowboy hat, cowboy vest, clown wig and nose, black gloves, etc.

You might be surprised about what you find. One year the store had 24 bag packages of lunch chips for a dollar. This was cheaper than it would cost for me to package them up myself. Happy Hunting!

Thanks so much for that charming helpful video. It really helps ones like me to actually SEE how you did it. I really admire the down to earth approach your family and company have in everything. Especially for in the times that we live now.

Good tips- we did a few of these things. We actually got packages of play-dough with the little tubs half price and used them for the kids at church. Preschoolers loves them.
Also one year after Halloween I was able to pick up several costumes that were dresses-like a bride, princess etc. Then I used these as a Christmas present for our daughter who loved to play dress up with them. It was a really cheap, but useful gift.
Also if your church, school, or group does a Christmas play this is a great time to get angel costumes and wings for the play. We did this several times- angel wings are really hard to find at Christmas time. It is a lot easier to buy after Halloween then to make them.

you mention a newsletter on this post, Oct. 29. I haven’t received a newsletter since Oct. 8. I know your taking some down time, is that what is happening or am I missing newsletters? I find them all interesting and would hate to miss out.

    Thanks for everything you do.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN ! :o) I get to Walmart bright and early on Nov.1st with my candy couponns. I buy about4 or 5 large bags of various candy. Then I use it to make Christmas goodie bags for the soup kitchen clients where my husband and I volunteer. Last yr another couple gave out bags to the kids over there. My husband and I had goodie bags for everyone. He dressed up as Santa and it was really fun! People were taking photos of their kids on Santa’s lap with their cell phones. One boy went out of the soup kitchen and was telling eveyone he met on the sidewalk that Santa was giving out goodie bags! You just never know how your actions will touch someone.

Sorry I got carried away here. :o) Bonnie

this is going to sound strange but I am married to a real scrooge acting man.
Christmas’ were never great when he was a child so he tries to act tough and scroogey.
But he always checks to see if the toy drive just before they pack the boxes has candy for the kids. They hardly ever do so we go shopping in the mall and pick up candy. usually around $200. each year he says no way not doing it this year. But it has been the same for 5 years.
after reading hear I went up and said we should go out on Tues and see what would be good for christmas since it would save us money and we could still give it to the drive.
Can’t believe it he agreed. So Tues. when he gets home from work a shopping we will go.
thank you so much for the idea.
I love to give but saving money is also something I love. But I would give anyway since kids are the priority at christmas.

I just went to Fleet Farm today and got family size bags of the little Reese’s PBS cups for my Christmas tart cookies. 16 cents per ounce.
