This homemade self rising flour recipe is one of those super simple recipes that you never think to make but self rising flour can be used to make a lot of different recipes. There’s not need to go out and buy it at the store as most people already have these simple ingredients at home! Here’s how to make self-rising flour!
Homemade Self Rising Flour Recipe
4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. baking powder
Mix the ingredients well and store in an airtight container. Use in recipes calling for self-rising flour. Makes 4 cups.
You just adjust up or down for the amount of self rising flour you need. For example, if you just need one cup of self rising flour, just mix:
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Could you use gluten free flour for this recipe?
For each cup of flour add 1 1/2 tsp. of baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt. As I usually tell people with most gluten free recipes they will not be exactly the same as using regular flour. Sometimes close but not the same.
