Easy Orange Julius Recipe – Tastes Just Like the Mall!

This easy Orange Julius recipe is one of our favorite summertime recipes! This cool refreshing creamy orange shake tastes just like the Orange Julius at the mall. The best part is it’s quick and easy to make and the entire family will love it! This recipe is also in our Dining On A Dime Cookbook, Volume 1.

This easy Orange Julius recipe is a creamy orange smoothie just like the ones at the mall. Starting with orange juice and ice cream, it makes a perfectly refreshing cool treat for warm summer days!

This Orange Julius recipe makes a delicious creamy orange smoothie that everyone loves, especially on hot days in the summer! It tastes just like the Orange Julius recipe most of us have had at the mall.

This recipe is wonderful to make for the kids when they come in after a long day out or when sitting out with your friends. It is super easy to make in just 5 minutes with common ingredients you probably already have, so if you didn’t plan ahead, you still probably have what you need to make it!

If you’re dairy-free, you can easily substitute coconut milk and coconut ice cream so you can still enjoy this treat without the dairy.

If you want to make it a little different than the Orange Julius recipe, you can add anything that sounds good to you. Bananas, coconut and pineapple would all be great with this recipe. Don’t be afraid to try anything that sounds good to you!

This easy Orange Julius recipe makes a creamy orange smoothie that tastes just like the ones at the mall. Starting with orange juice and ice cream, it makes a perfectly refreshing cool treat for warm summer days!

  • Author: Tawra Kellam
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

1/3 cup frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup milk
5-6 ice cubes
1/4 cup sugar
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in blender until smooth.
  2. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

This Orange Julius recipe can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Serves 4.

Notes

If you like, you can add other things like strawberries, banana, pineapple or coconut. If a smoothie-type ingredient sounds good to you, you can probably add it!

For Dairy Free:

If you’re dairy free, you can substitute coconut milk for the milk and vanilla coconut milk ice cream in place of the ice cream.

You can use Coconut Silk, but it will result in a thinner smoothie. It is better to use coconut milk in a can, if possible, because it has a thicker consistency and will more resemble a smoothie or shake.

This easy Orange Julius recipe is from Volume 1 of our cookbook:

Tawra – I have both your Dining on A Dime books … Volume I is very WELL used and has many notes scribbled on the pages! I can’t thank you enough for all the help you’ve given me over the years! I love your Newsletter and have used many of the tips provided! I evev did your 7 Day Meal Plan and it’s still working just as great, just a bit more expensive due to the rising cost at the grocery store, but because it’s just my husband and I we got 2 weeks out of it Again, thanks SO much for all you do to help us all stay on budget!
