Ingredients

1 (11 oz.) bag white chocolate chips
1 Tbsp. butter
1 (7 oz.) jar marshmallow cream
2/3 cup nuts or dried fruits* (your choice)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Pour the whIte chocolate chips into a large microwave safe measuring cup or mixing bowl.
  3. Add butter.
  4. Microwave 30 seconds; stir.
  5. Repeat microwaving and stirring until smooth. If the whIte chocolate is mostly smooth after stirring, do not microwave again (to avoid seizing). Instead, let it sit on the counter a couple minutes and stir one more time until smooth.
  6. Add marshmallow cream; stir.
  7. Add 2/3 cup of your choice of nuts and dried fruit.
  8. Stir to combine thoroughly. It may start to get firm, but keep mixing until combined.
  9. Pour the candy mixture into the baking pan.
  10. Spray your fingers with cooking spray to prevent the candy from sticking to your hands.
  11. Spread the candy mixture evenly into the baking pan.
  12. Cool at room temperature or in the refrigerator until firm.
  13. When firm, remove the candy from the baking pan; peel off the parchment paper.
  14. Cut into pieces. (A large butcher knife works best.)

Notes

*You can use any nuts or dried fruits you like, but I especially like using Almonds, Cranberries and Pistachios for a traditional Christmas candy nougat.

For the nougat, you said 2/3 cup of whatever nuts/fruit you want, but you scoop 3 different things. So is it 2 cups total-2/3 cup each of three things? Or 2/3 cup total of everything combined? I’m confused because even if you’re using a 1/3 cup scoop, three items would make a cup. I really want to try this, but don’t want to mess it up. Lol. Thanks so much!

2/3 cup total but it’s not a big deal. Add more if you want. I usually do.
