This is the BEST Onion Cheese Bread recipe!! This cheesy onion bread is so easy to make it will be on your favorite’s list! This tastes similar to the Red Lobster Biscuits, only in bread form. You can find this Onion Cheese Bread recipe in our Dining On A Dime Cookbook on page 94.
You can use any form of onions you like for this recipe; fresh, freeze dried or dehydrated. If you’re using using freeze dried or dehydrated onions, just rehydrate with a bit of water first.
This cheesy onion bread goes will ham, applesauce and roasted veggies or you make it and eat it with a simple stew.
If your family doesn’t like onions, you can leave out the onions and add 1/2 tsp onion powder to the flour mixture and you will have the onion flavor but not the onion texture.

Onion Cheese Bread Recipe
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 cup margarine
2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup milk
1 egg
paprika
1 /2 cup onion, finely chopped
Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Cut in margarine until it is a coarse meal.
In separate bowl, combine cheeses, milk and eggs and stir. Add to the flour mixture and mix with a fork just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Put into a greased loaf pan and sprinkle onions and paprika over the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 1 loaf.
For a Cheese Bread Recipe: Use the recipe above and simply omit the onions.

I am not sure Elaine. You might just take a muffin style bread recipe you have and use the the temp and all from that.
