Fall Decorations

homemade fall decorations

Here are a couple of pictures of mom’s falls decorations.

She made the rake (it says "Free Leaves – Rake All You Want") for $0 using stuff she already had. I made the pumpkin guys in the back a couple of years ago. It was easy and cost me $0 because I already had the stuff.

Mom went to put  up a funny witch one year and the silly thing kept falling down as she was hanging it. She finally got frustrated and left it on the ground until she could figure out what to do.

She then decided to just leave it and add a "water" bucket like the Wizard of Oz when the witch was melted with water! Great idea! (And so much easier)

Love the witch idea. I chuckled to myself when I saw these pictures-I live in Arizona and it is still well over 100 degrees here. “Fall” won’t set in for at least another month. But your pumpkins look great.

For those of you who aren’t from Kansas or have never seen the Wizard of Oz, I did the bucket of water because in the movie that is what Dorothy used to kill the wicked witch.
I also saw my “fall rake” in a magazine and it was about $25 so I decided to make my own with an old rake I had, some silk flowers and then I painted the words on an old board I had laying in the back yard.

    Hi Jill:
I loved the idea with the water next to the witch. I new exactley where you got that idea from. For some reason because my name is Glenda, everbody thinks of the Wizard of Oz when they think of me.
    Love & Hugs,

Jill, I like the creativity in your decorations. I like the idea of the Wicked Witch melting away too. That was a unique idea to put on your porch.
