Easy Bake Oven Cake Mix Recipe

This easy bake oven cake mix recipe would make a nice jar mix to put in jars or bags to give along with an Easy Bake Oven at Christmas. It costs about $1.25 to make a batch for 11 cakes compared to Easy Bake Oven Mixes from Walmart at $6.97 for 2 cakes. (Can you say “I don’t think so!!!”)  This was always the way we went when my kids had an Easy Bake Oven and it’s so quick and easy to mix that you will kick yourself for every buying premade mixes before!

Wonderful idea! Those “Easy Bake Oven” brand cake and frosting packages that you buy cost so much it is just plain ridiculous. And using an entire box of regular cake mix can be wasteful if the child loses interest after making only 2 or 3 little cakes and then throwing out the rest of the batter. I will show your recipe to my brothers wife. His kids have an “Easy Bake Oven” but rarely use it because of the cost of the “Easy Bake Oven” brand cake and frosting packages. Now they can have fun using it again. Thanks!

You can buy a cake mix and use 3TBSP mix with 1TBSP of milk (or water) bake for 15min and it works great. You can make a ton of easy bake cakes from one cake mix box. I just keep it tied up with a chip clip to stay fresh.

Your website has been such a blessing to me, as it is teaching me how to cut down on costs, which I really need to do. I am so greatful for this recipe, because my daughter will be getting an easy bake oven for Christmas from her grandma:)

Ah! Where was this when I was a kid? I burnt my Easy Bake Oven out. I had to move on to the big oven. This is good so then it can be adapted for allergies. Thanks!

Seems like you could also use one of those recipes that call for applesauce in the “box cake mix” instead of oil & eggs, that would be simple to and don’t have to worry about the kids licking the bowl with raw eggs in the mix. Just a thought.

Thank you so much I checked on these today and they are $8 a mix:) After spending only 1.91 on the oven at the thrift store I hate to spend so much on the mix! This is a lifesaver!
