“I am an at-home medical transcriptionist. After reading your article about not wearing pajamas all day, getting fully dressed for the day as if you were going to a job, even when your job entailed staying home, I told my co-workers about it on our monthly conference call, since it helped me greatly improve my line count (and my mind set).”
-Francine
“I am not one who has a lot of debt, however I never seemed to have any money. Some of the stuff you talk about just seems so simple, yet it just never dawned on me to look at it that way. I especially like your tips for in the kitchen. I have to admit that I am prone to looking at my dirty dishes in the sink and messy counters and just wanting to order a pizza for dinner. Lately, I have really put forth the effort in keeping it clean and now I actually want to cook.”

hi there, i am interested in purchasing your “keepin it clean” series of e-books, but don’t have a credit card & i live in australia so i need to know how much the e-books would cost me in australian dollars & how i can order & pay for via western union or some other type of payment method – maybe an international money order? Regards, zoe’
Zoe, the US$ to AU$ is currently about the same (use http://www.xe.com to calculate the exact exchange rate on the day), so the ebook will cost you about $19.04. Although it doesn’t require you to have an account to make a payment, if you set up an account and attach it to your bank account, you can make payments to anywhere in the world (or to anyone) without requiring a bank account. Go to http://www.paypal.com and follow the instructions to set up an account. It is a simple process, but takes a couple of days.
I am looking for a powder form of homemade luandry detergent, is there one available at your website for I did not find one
Juanita, the dry kind is
1 cup Borax
1 cup washing soda
1 bar Fels Naptha soap
Grate the Fels Naptha and then mix it altogether.
Use 2 -3 Tbsp. per load. This will not get real sudsy but don’t worry that is just the way it works.
Jill, thanks for the tip on the dry version. My husband won’t let me make any for our new washer which requires HE (high efficiency for those of you who do not know the acronym) laundry soap. He think it will mess up. I didn’t go out with him when he bought the washer, and he does not want me to try it because he thinks it will get ruined. Have you tried it with an HE washer? How about your readers?
It works fine in HE washers. They don’t want you using high sudsing soaps in an HE washer and this is a low sudsing soap so it works fine.
Thank you!

I just wanted to say that I consider a lot of this being creative.
You do save money too but it is fun to do these projects.
I used to love (and sometimes still do) to knit rugs from strips of
sweat shirts and sweat pants. They are thicker, cozy and great for
standing on when doing the dishes or for your pet to lay on.
Keep up the great work. I love your site.
I was just thinking today about making rugs out of all sorts of rags. Do you have instructions to do this, and what size of hook do you use?
Here is the video and info off of our web site for you Debbie. The size hook depends on the type of fabric you are using (sometimes thicker material needs a thicker hook) but really it doesn’t matter what size you use. That is what is so fun about this is you don’t have to be exact for most of it and you can use pretty much what ever size you want. If you are in a hurry use a bigger hook. I use a big one, my mom uses a smaller one.
