Easy Crockpot Swiss Steak Recipe

Ingredients

2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
2 lbs. round steak
1 Tbsp. oil
1 medium onion, chopped
23 stalks celery, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1 cup tomatoes, peeled
2 carrots, sliced (optional)
2 cups water
8 potatoes, boiled or mashed (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Rub into round steak.
  3. Cut round steak into serving-sized pieces.
  4. Brown meat in oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Pour all of the vegetables except the potatoes over the steak.
  6. Add water.
  7. Cover and reduce heat to low.
  8. Simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or all day on low in the crockpot.
  9. Serve over potatoes if desired. Serves 4.
