This Angel Food Delight recipe makes one of those easy desserts where everyone asks for the recipe after the first bite! Layers of fluffy angel food cake, sweet pie filling, and creamy vanilla pudding make it a simple make-ahead dessert that’s perfect for potlucks, holidays, and family dinners.

Ingredients

1 prepared angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 (21 oz.) can pie filling (cherry, peach, or blueberry)
1 (3.4 oz.) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup sour cream
whipped topping

Instructions

  1. Place half of the angel food cake cubes in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish or large serving bowl.
  2. Spoon the pie filling evenly over the cake cubes.
  3. Top with the remaining angel food cake cubes.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine pudding, milk and sour cream, beating well.
  5. Pour the pudding mixture over the cake.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 5 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to blend and the cake to soften.
  7. Serve topped with whipped topping.

Notes

  • Cherry, blueberry, and peach pie fillings all work well, so use your family’s favorite.
  • For a prettier presentation, reserve a few spoonfuls of pie filling to garnish the top before serving.
  • This dessert is even better the next day, making it perfect for potlucks, holidays, and family gatherings.
