2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 egg white (meringue powder may be substituted)
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
4 small lids peppermint flavoring (try 1/2-1 tsp.; then add more to taste if you need to.)
1 pkg. (12 oz.) almond bark OR chocolate melting wafers
Use the same method as the peppermint patties, but substitute the ingredients as follows:
Ingredients:
5 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 tsp. cherry extract
Chocolate melting wafers or almond bark (for dipping) – Wilton brand preferred
Directions:
Mix the powdered sugar, melted butter, and cherry extract until a thick dough forms. Shape into small balls, flatten slightly, and freeze. Dip in melted chocolate and chill until set, just like the peppermint patties.
