Easy Hot Fudge Sauce Recipe

2 (1 oz.) unsweetened chocolate squares (total 2 oz.)
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup evaporated milk


  1. Melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Turn down the heat and let it cook for just a bit until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Let it cool and stir again in about 10 minutes.
  7. Store in the refrigerator.


If you want to use the whole can of evaporated milk (12 oz.), just double all the other ingredients and use the whole can. This will make about 1 qt. and can be stored in the refrigerator.
