Potato Hamburger Casserole Recipe

This potato hamburger casserole recipe makes a hearty and delicious casserole everyone will love. Only 5 minutes to prepare and then bake for a tasty main dish or one dish meal.

Ingredients

Units

2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 1/2 cups milk
salt and pepper (to taste)
5 small potatoes
2 lbs. ground beef, browned
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (We used a colby jack mix, but cheddar would be great, too.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk and salt and pepper (to taste). Mix well.
  3. Peel and slice the potatoes.
  4. Add to the mixture. Set aside.
  5. Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with non stick spray.
  6. Layer half of the beef, half the potato mixture and 1/2 cup of the cheese into the baking pan.
  7. Layer the rest of the beef and potato mixture on top of the cheese.
  8. Top with the remaining cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  10. Remove the foil and bake another 30 minutes, until the potatoes are fork tender.
  11. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Then cut and serve.
