1 cup butter 2 1/4 cups sugar 5 eggs 3 cups all purpose flour 1 Tbsp. ground cloves 1 Tbsp. cinnamon pinch of salt 1 cup buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until mixture is very light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs. Mix well.
  4. Mix flour with cloves, cinnamon and salt.
  5. Add flour, cloves, cinnamon, salt, baking soda and buttermilk. Mix well.
  6. Pour into a greased 10-inch tube pan.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. Cool 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
  9. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost with Caramel Frosting.
