This rich and creamy cream cheese fudge recipe is made with just 5 simple ingredients and doesn’t require any baking! Cream cheese gives the fudge an extra-smooth, creamy texture, while semisweet chocolate keeps it rich without being overly sweet. It’s an easy homemade fudge recipe for Christmas, holidays, parties or anytime you need a quick chocolate treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) block cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips and butter in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. (Or melt together in a double boiler.)
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Mix in the vanilla.
  4. Slowly add the melted chocolate mixture to the cream cheese, beating until completely combined and smooth.
  5. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition. Continue mixing until the mixture is thick and smooth.
  6. Spread the fudge evenly into the prepared pan. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely firm.
  7. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into small squares and serve. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Be sure the cream cheese is completely softened before mixing to help prevent lumps.
  • For easy, clean slices, chill the fudge thoroughly and wipe the knife between cuts. Pro Tip: A plastic knife usually makes cleaner cuts with fudge.
  • You can sprinkle extra chocolate chips, chopped nuts or festive sprinkles over the top before chilling.
  • Because this fudge contains cream cheese, store it covered in the refrigerator.
  • This fudge can also be made ahead of time, making it an easy treat for holidays, parties and gift trays.
