Here’s an easy herbed vinegar recipe you can use to make great Christmas gifts and more, especially if you want to give something charming and different than the sweets most people receive at this time of year.

Ingredients

Units

2 cup white vinegar
1 cup fresh herbs: basil, mint, dill, rosemary, chives or oregano (choose one)

Instructions

  1. Decide which herb you’d like to flavor your vinegar.
  2. Place the vinegar in a glass jar or bottle.
  3. Add herbs, seal and let steep for 2-4 weeks. The longer you let it steep, the stronger the vinegar.
  4. Remove herbs and put 2 or 3 sprigs of the herb into the bottle for decoration.
  5. Seal the bottle with a cork.
  6. Then pour melted paraffin around the top.
  7. Tie with a ribbon for gift giving.
