This gluten-free Cheddar Cheese Crackers recipe is crispy, cheesy, and made with just 5 simple ingredients! Perfect for snacks, lunchboxes, or party trays—no gluten, no fuss, just bold cheddar flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, finely grated
1 1/4 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour (add 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum, if your blend doesn’t include it)
4 tbsp cold butter, cut into small pieces
1/4 cup sour cream, plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine cheese, flour, butter, and salt.
  2. Pulse until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
  3. Add sour cream and pulse again until the dough starts to come together.
  4. It should still be crumbly but hold when pressed. (Note: The Gluten Free dough may be slightly softer or more delicate—this is normal.)
  5. Shape the dough into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350° .
  7. Roll dough on lightly floured parchment to about ⅛–¼ inch thick. If you prefer them to be crunchy, roll them thinner, and if you prefer them chewy, like biscuit bites, roll them out thicker.
  8. Cut into 1-inch squares using a pizza cutter or pastry wheel.
  9. Poke a hole in each cracker with a skewer or chopstick.
  10. Transfer parchment and crackers to a baking sheet.
  11. Slightly separate the crackers.
  12. Bake for 17–20 minutes, until golden and puffy.
  13. Cool fully before serving.

Notes

  • If your gluten-free all-purpose flour doesn’t contain xanthan gum, be sure to add 1/2 teaspoon to the recipe to help it turn out right.
