This super easy apple spice cake recipe makes a delicious cake that is moist, flavorful, and full of warm spice—perfect for family dinners, potlucks, or any time you’re craving a comforting dessert!

  • 1 (15 oz.) box spice cake mix
  • 1 (21 oz.) can apple pie filling
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2-1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, apple pie filling, eggs, oil, and nuts (if using). Beat at medium speed for about 2 minutes, until well blended.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool slightly, then frost with caramel frosting or top with caramel ice cream topping.

Notes

For make-ahead convenience, measure dry ingredients for cakes, muffins, quick breads, or cookies into bags and store them. Next time, just add the wet ingredients and bake!
