The Active Word

Several readers have asked about our church. We go to church at Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale. When we lived in Kansas, we joked around that we were the Andover, KS branch because we watched it home with mom and my brother and his family.

We’ve decided to post a teaching from Pastor Bob here each Sunday for those of you would like to enjoy it also.

If you don’t have a church home and can’t attend then you can watch their services live here.

Eastern Standard Time:

Saturdays – 6pm

Sundays – 8am, 10:15am, 12:30pm

Wednesdays – 6:30pm

If you can’t watch it live, here is a message you might like:

From Pastor Bob

“Victorious – A Study Through The Book Of Joshua Ch.3″

This is the scene when Israel finally crosses the Jordan River into the Promised Land after forty years of wandering in the wilderness. Pastor Bob explains what is required to occupy the land of promise: eager willingness, specific obedience, genuine faith, and spiritual stick-with-ness; faithfulness that is a witness to others.

      Enjoy!

  • Thanks for posting the sermon links. My dad might actually be interested in this. That’s one of his favorite things to do, listen to sermons on-line ;) :) He has been in the hospital the last few eweeks, and just came home. He’s doing very well, but wants to take it easy at home today :) :) We’ll be going back to church starting next Sunday.

Oh, I just asked my dad about your church. He is very familiar with it :) :) Way cool :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

    • Hope you dad gets to feeling better. That is part of the reason we started watching pastor bob. It was hard finding a church here and with 3 of the 5 adults in our family being sick with CFS and FM it was hard for us to always fill good enough to go. We have been so grateful that we found Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale.

I love California. I was born at Oceanside and then years later lived up in the Sacramento area for awhile. Even though I am mostly from Colorado and now live in Ks I have always had a special love for CA.

  • Heather

What a small world! I’ve bought your book and used many of the recipes (and passed them on)and really connected with the things you’ve written and now I know why! I’m a life-long Floridian and got saved at CCFL back in ’99 and was very involved there until I moved up to Atlanta in ’04 I’ve been attending Calvary Chapel Gwinnett here ever since. Nothing like “verse-by-verse” teaching.

    • I know it really is a small world. I think we have a few readers too who go to CCFL who had been with us for years and we didn’t even know about it until we started posting their services on the web site. That is way too cool that you were saved there. We do love CCFL. Every time I watch it I feel like a starving person getting to go to a huge Thanksgiving feast. : ) : )

Wow! Thanks Heather for telling them that their on line sermons are a ministry.

Personanally, I think that your entire website is. I’m starting to get organized. I’m getting rid of clutter because as you say you can’t organize it. You must get rid of it!

With every thing I give away I feel like I lost weight!

    • I like the way you put it Grizzly bear mom. It does feel like you have lost weight when you do this and a big heavy burden has been lifted. You did a good job in describing what it feels like.
