This is a very good way of explaining how people dealing with chronic illness feel. I printed off to share with my mom! Thanks!
A very good way to explain dealing with diabetes, too!
Thank you so much for this… Bettie
This is a great way to explain my panic attacks and diabetes.Thank you for putting this up.
I love this. I wish I knew about it years ago. It so perfectly discribes the long and tedious process of living each day with chronic illnesses. Life can still be glorious, but it is much more work.
I have fibromyalgia and people always wonder what the pain is like. I tell them that on a good day I feel like I got hit by an F150. On a bad day, it’s a Mac truck.
I once read something a man said in describing his CFS. He said if you describe the symptoms as being flu like he said that was like comparing an out of control forest fire to a match flame. I do have to agree with him on that.
This article really explains what having fibromyalgia feels like. Do you ever just hit the wall? You’re going along fine, and all of a sudden, you know you won’t go another step. You physically just cannot do it. It’s hard to explain to people. Being chronically ill effects your entire life. I hardly ever make plans. I never know how I will feel.
Yes Rachel we have the same problems. It is so hard to make plans and it really hurts to try to explain over and over why you can’t do this or that especially to those closest to you. Sometimes the explaining wears me out more then anything.
thanks so much for this would it be possible for me to print this and give it to our friends and faily just might make them think instead of judgeing me every day
I try to work about 15 hours a week as a cashier and usually can’t make that.I’ve had CFS for 9 years now.My family don’t really understand, but my husband sure does alot to pick up my slack, cooking, etc.Printing this “SPOON THEORY” will help explain what my life is really like on a day to day basis.Christine did a very good job telling what it’s like having a chronic illness.
