Well, we’ve had two other people come out to look at the septic tank and it looks like it’s all going to have to be replaced. About $8,000 at least. It will be interesting to see how God works this one out. We had it pumped out again on Friday and it’s Monday and almost full again. We haven’t been taking showers or using the washer or dishwasher so that is not good.
Then we thought we were getting internet on Thursday and we can’t get it. So now we have to try and get it through Direct TV which costs twice as much for 1/2 the speed we used to have. To top it off we can’t get it for another 2 weeks! We are coming into my brothers to do business but it isn’t easy. Please forgive us if we are slow in answering emails.
I am totally worn out. Moving just about kills me. I am hoping to find a good used couch soon so I can start sleeping on it again. The bed, even though it’s an air bed, just hurts my muscles to much. WE did find two really nice Lazy Boy recliners at a garage sale the other day. They were $100 each but I got them because they were only two years old and in excellent shape.
Well, I better run. Sorry for the short messages!! Tawra

Tawra, I am so sorry! Why didn’t this show up in the inspection? Do you have any recourse? Talk to your realtor. What about a home buyers warranty? Did you get one of those that might cover this? Good luck!
Jennifer
This septic problem didn’t happen overnight. Just why were the former owners moving? What did they disclose on the form (re plumbing)? What extactly did the inspection show? If any of the above did not fully and truly, not in a shady way, disclose the full facts on the system they may be partial responsible for fixing it. take care and remember the peaceful nights you have now!
Wow!
We will continue to pray for all of you….and for your house!
So frustrated FOR you that you’re having to go through all this.

I will pray that God moves quickly on the $8000.00 you will need. I do enjoy watching Him at work.
God Bless,
Renee
Hi Tawra–
Sorry for your troubles. Prayers sent that things will start to resolve, and soon! It’s discouraging when we think we follow God’s will and things don’t go smoothly . . . hang in there!
Oh man, that is really awful. I am sure you have thought all this through but did the house you bought have a warranty? Any protection via the warranty you bought for the house you just sold? I am sure laws vary from state to state but if you think you were intentionally deceived it would seem reasonable to consider legal action (or the threat thereof) against the real estate agent and/or the seller. Just my two cents and NO I have not made a fortune in real estate hahah.

That is a good buy on recliners. I have been saving a little money each month because my dryer kicked the bucket. I went and got a brand new one for $399 and it was 50% off. I love reading about ways to save money. It took me awhile to learn how to budget.
since u just purchased the home can u find the prevous owners responsible.. they had to have know something was wrong..i would look into it
I suggest you contact your inspector about the septic tank. Also, check your pre-sell disclosure. If the owners mis-stated the truth about the system, you may be entitled to recompense.
Hi Tawra,
I’m sorry to hear that things at the new house have gotten off to a rocky start. I was just thinking, shouldn’t some of these things have been discovered in your inspection. Did they inspect your septic system? I would think that if there were some big ticket items that were missed, that the inspection company would bear some responsibility?..I’d love to see some pics of the new house when you get a minute.
Thanks for keeping us posted.

Sorry for your troubles, Tawra! May God bless you and your family in the face of these trials. Hang in there!
I am so sorry for your troubles. When it rains it pours! Having fibromyalgia myself I can empathize with you. Try to get some rest in between what you are doing. Hang in there! God bless
Tawra-
I hope that things are getting better. Moves are always so hard and stressful. Please take care of yourself and we all look forward to hearing from you soon.
Hugs and prayers,
Jennifer
Hey Tawra, look for a memory foam topper or better yet, a whole memory foam mattress if you can afford it. I have CFS/FM and memory foam is a lifesaver.
Isn’t there some kind of law that prohibits sellers from selling a house without disclosing the major problems with it. Seems to me the previous owners must have known the septic system was bad. The AC breaks, the garage floods and the septic system all go south within a few days of closing? Not a coincidence. Call your real estate agent. I think you can get some $$ back from the sellers. Hope you can!
Dear Tawra,
So sorry that you had to pay so much for the septic tank.
But I can see that you LOVE your new place, so I guess it is all worth it in the long run.
Thanks for posting your pictures on your website.
I love your new house and the 1 acre that came with it. I envy you
to have such a wonderful place.
Wishing nothing but happiness with your family in your new “paradise”.
Marie
P.S. Hope you get relief from your pain in that big bathtub of yours.
