Well, today was a rough day. We had the garage sale again and packed up a couple more pick- up loads to take to moms. We were so sick and I was so sore I had to keep sitting down every few minutes and then force myself to get up and do something else.

We did sell most of the big stuff and a neighbor said he would haul the rest for us to his mom who collects garage sale leftovers and then has her own sales.

We had a funny talk with the mail lady. She was telling us how she was bragging about us to everyone. How we were doing so well because she knew us at our other house and was impressed how we were moving “up”. She said “your first house was 80K, this house was 100K and now your next house is 135K. you guys must be doing so well”. I think she felt like she was a part of it taking so many orders for us! I told her it’s funny because even though we are moving up we our income has stayed around 30-35K the entire time. I thought I was going to have to pick her jaw up off the floor! She said “you’re kidding! you don’t look like you live on that little!” I was so excited. I was able to tell how frugal living can really give you a great standard of living on little income. She was so impressed and couldn’t wait to tell everyone! LOL

We took everyone out to eat to the Texas roadhouse for dinner for helping us move and for an early Father’s Day dinner for Mike and my brother. It was expensive and we hardly ever spend that much on eating out but we all had a good time and it was more than worth it. It’s funny how you appreciate that stuff more when you don’t do it very often.

We stopped by Walmart afterward and found apple trees on clearance for $4 each so I go two. I was so excited to start my own fruit trees finally at the new house.

When we got home I got an email from my cousin saying that my great grandmother had died today. She was 97. I really loved her a lot. We were a lot alike. I got my green thumb from her. She always had the most beautiful plants and gardens! She also was the person I got my “tell it like it is” gene from. :-) She was one of the people who basically settled Southeastern Colorado. She lived through the dust bowl and told me stories about how she would push inches of dust out the door everyday and hang wet diapers to dry on a line in her one room house. She said they didn’t waste time washing them unless there was poop on them.

I haven’t seen her in years but I am going to miss her greatly. She was in a nursing home the last few years and I know she probably didn’t like it real well. She was ready to go to heaven years ago and I’m so glad that she’s there now. Maybe one day we can have huge gardens together in heaven and both our bodies will be free from sickness and pain. :-)

We are going to try and see if we can get everything packed up by Tuesday so we can go the funeral which will probably be Wednesday or Thursday in Springfield (southeastern) Colorado.

We are going to close the office down on Tuesday until July 6 when we can get into the new house.

It’s late and I am going to try and sleep again but I’m having a hard time. It’s one of those times when you need your rest so you can keep going but can’t sleep.

Well, I better run. I will try to post at least one more update before we take the computers down and pack them. Tawra
