We finally have Internet. It’s very slow but all we can get. (Wild Blue, don’t use them if you can avoid it)

I am trying to get caught up on everything but it is going slowly.

The sellers said they won’t pay for their half of the septic problems so now we are going to go to mediation. If that doesn’t work we will have to go to court in which case we will sue for the entire amount and not just half. To say we are frustrated is an understatement!

On a funny frugal note. I have chewed my fingernails down to nothing. I used to be a chronic nail biter growing up but now I just do it for a few months, stop for a few years and then start again.

They hurt so bad I couldn’t go to sleep last night. I was trying to think of something to take the pain away. I had some baby origel and thought “well if it works for teeth maybe it will work for fingers”. Sure enough it worked like a charm and I slept like a “baby”! LOL

We had a lot of people ask about our septic problem.

1- we do have a home warrenty but it doesn’t cover pre-exsisting conditions or septic systems
2- we tried to have an inspection but when they went to inspect it they found that the garage had been built on top of it. They wouldn’t inspect it then. We got a bid of $11,000 to fix the problem. The sellers wanted a second opionion which was reasonable. They asked a co-worker who does sewer and septics how much it would be to move the septic tank. He said $2300 for a new tank. We agreed to split it with us.

When we moved in we discovered that there were major problems and when they went in to fix it it was a huge mess so we are currently asking the former owners to pay half. We did spend an extra $1,000 to upgrade to a larger tank which we did not ask them to pay for.

Well, we’ve had two other people come out to look at the septic tank and it looks like it’s all going to have to be replaced. About $8,000 at least. It will be interesting to see how God works this one out. We had it pumped out again on Friday and it’s Monday and almost full again. We haven’t been taking showers or using the washer or dishwasher so that is not good.

Then we thought we were getting internet on Thursday and we can’t get it. So now we have to try and get it through Direct TV which costs twice as much for 1/2 the speed we used to have. To top it off we can’t get it for another 2 weeks! We are coming into my brothers to do business but it isn’t easy. Please forgive us if we are slow in answering emails.

I am totally worn out. Moving just about kills me. I am hoping to find a good used couch soon so I can start sleeping on it again. The bed, even though it’s an air bed, just hurts my muscles to much. WE did find two really nice Lazy Boy recliners at a garage sale the other day. They were $100 each but I got them because they were only two years old and in excellent shape.

Wow, when it rains it pours. We closed and moved in last week.

First the a/c wasn’t working, the guy finally got here today to work on it, no verdict yet.

Then our “minor” garage drainage issue flooded 3/4 of the garage 2 days ago and now today the plumbing is backed up! Augh!!

We still don’t have internet yet either. I must say that my patience is being tried!

I will blog more later when I have internet, hopefully tomorrow!
