Augh! They are the WORST trash service I have ever had.
For months now they have been leaving trash all over. I've let it go because it's been extra windy so I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
The trash guy is going so fast that his truck isn't even stopped before he jumps out. We timed him and he took 20 seconds to dump the trash one day from the time he opened the truck door!
Well, last week I come home and there are light bulbs and a basket all in the street.
I had, had it. So I called and canceled my trash service. They want to charge me $15 to come get their bucket! I said no I'm not paying it. She said well, we can just cancel today and then you won't have to pay it. It's the same thing! They take off 2 weeks worth of trash service to pay for it I'm still paying the $15. I told her no.
They said since I haven't complained before I didn't give them a chance to "fix it". They said their guys are paid more for the faster they work so that's why they go so fast.
I spent an hour on the phone arguing with 5 people.
Now today the guy stops by and apologizes but says we don't have service any longer, so they stopped it anyway! I am so mad I could just scream!
It wouldn't be so bad and I would have given them a second chance if mom hadn't had the same problems with them.
So my frugal tip is the day is DO NOT USE WASTE CONNECTIONS FOR YOUR TRASH SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry but what do you mean exactly by waste "connections"?

Sheesh! Hope you reported this incident to the BBB and your attorney general. That ought to take the bark out of 'em! Leaving trash like lightbulbs out in the street is totally dangerous and my guess would be it's illegal seeing as it is "littering" anyway.
We do not have a choice of trash service providers and by law we must have service. We had problems with them not picking up the trash, so I had to call to have it done almost weekly for awhile. Finally we attended a Board of Supervisors meeting when they were proposing a price increase. We stated that we understood the need for an increase due to rising costs, but we felt it was undeserved due to the poor service given. Other people and businesses also complained, and the Board of Supervisors really took them to task about the number of complaints. They were given the increased rates, with the condition that they have a lower complaint rate. We walked out of the meeting and we were met by the company manager, as well as a newspaper reporter. We got the manager's phone number..., and our service has greatly improved. They rarely mess up , and they fix it faster. It really pays to go up the chain with complaints, and to make them public. The company has also made use of surveys via email fairly regularly.

now that you dont have any trash service, how is your trash going to be picked up?...
or do you have to take your trash someplace?...
not sure if i am understanding this correctly...
here where i live, no matter what, we still have the same trash service and i am not sure if we are charged anything bc this is a rental home that i live in... it might be included with the rent...
i hope it all works out for you and your mom soon...
Here we have our choice of trash service or we can burn it since we are out of the city.
We are just going use another company.

glad to hear you have a choice... there are times i wish we did but where i live at only one company is used for the trash service...
hopefully all will work out for the best...

don't use haggard trash service either. They are rude and throw your trash cans when they are heavy and will not apologize.
To anyone who cares,
My husband used to work for them and they keep making these guys routes bigger and bigger and expecting them to get the routes done in the same amount of time. He worked for them for 9 years and it literally nearly killed him. Not only do they extract every last drop of sweat from them, they expect these guys to do a thorough job (that's where the mess comes in) and also drive safley. We had had it with them and finally my husband was able to get another job. But while this kept going on and on, they kept making promises they never ever kept nor intended to keep. It must be part of their Company philosophy! They are a terrible outfit to their customers and there over worked employees. Please know they are desperate to keep their jobs and must get their ever growing routes done on time every day. Thanks for listening,

I have noticed the same mess in my neighbourhood too, am in the area of 13th and West.
i will never ever use them i had a horrible time with them to when we live in rural Oklahoma a few years ago we had a dumpster that was there at the house we lived in and renters just left and did not pay there bill and it set there 2 weeks before they picked it up (its smelled horrible) that was a waring sign we should have taken but no we said well lets use them so they were suppose to come weekly and dump the dumpster and they did not but we would still get charged for it so my husband was getting mad cause he would call and they would say no we came we are charging you so he said fine i don't want you any more i am not gonna pay you anything come get your dumpster 2 mts later they finally came and got it and sent us to a bill collector but 410 bucks saying we had trash service the whole time now we did own them 100 but no more we had records of everything and my husbands a big man he went down to there main office and talked to the main manager and we paid the 100 and he he said he was sorry but my husband said he was still totally rude about it with his voice sounding like chad was lieing sorry about the book but you got me going lol!!
