Ok, just for the record. When I said "today was a day of mourning" for us because we had a huge tax bill I was just kidding.
Yes, it was a huge shock to have to pay $6300 for taxes this year but the good news is that means we actually made a middle class income last year!
I have no problem paying for taxes and am happy that we can do it without going into debt because we live frugally.
I'm happy to pay it too because that means I live in a free country and I am willing to pay for that protection. I'm willing to pay for the roads I drive on and happy to be able to send my kids to public school. Not every country has that.
So, just so you know I was only joking!

I feel for you! The purpose for taxes may be good but that doesn't mean that we jump for joy at paying them. I remember my first time of having to pay taxes...$7500 back in 2003. Know what? I am still making monthly payments on those stupid taxes! I have wasted so much money in penalties and interest that it makes me sick. All because I have never been disciplined enough to save the money to pay them off. That's why your website is so great to read. It's so encouraging, even if I do still make stupid financial mistakes. If you want to know just how stupid I am, go on over to my blog. Yesterday's entry will give you a prime example. But the good thing is that I am a work in progress. I have at least identified and admitted my mental problem that causes me to be so stupid so maybe theres's hope for me! lol
