Polish Problems
I tried two different "long lasting" Sally Hansen polishes. One was 10 Day and the other Hard Wrap. Well both didn't even last 5 hours! I didn't do the dishes or anything.
I went to a salon and asked what the deal was. They said that the polish that will stay on is polish put on acrylic nails. They said natural nails have too much oil so the polish won't stick.
So now I am going to try rubbing alcohol on them before I put the polish on. I do have oily skin and hair so that is probably my problem. It's funny because I was going to try that and then a reader suggested I do that first the next day! So I'm going to give it a try. I will let you know how my polish adventure goes. :-) I only have about 3 weeks left before gardening season starts so I hope I figure it out fast. :-)

I have am at home manicure routine that gives me results of polish lasting 7-12 days. I believe the important step for you may be to use polish remover prior to coloring you nails.
My routine is as follows;
exfoliate hands 1Tbl vasaline + 1tsp sugar.
Wash and dry hands.
file & shape nails
apply softner to cuticles
soak hands in warm water
push back cuticles
apply hand lotion
clean nails w/ polish remover
apply color in 3 strokes; down center first
let dry about 20mns
apply 2nd coat & let dry 30mns
