Gardening with Drywall.

We are trying the drywall thing in the garden. My brother is sheetrocking his house so we got the leftovers and put them in the garden. I just laid it down, put some garden trimmings on top and then Mike put compost on top of that. We are going to leave it for the winter. I don't know if it's going to work but it's sure worth a try! This soil is HORRID so I figure it can't hurt!

Just curious...what was the drywall going to do for your garden?

It's made of gypsum and lime and will hopefully loosen up our clay soil after it breaks down.

lasagna gardening - layer after layer and your soil will be awesome next season. You can find instructions for doing it on line. drywall might work really well for the bottom layer
