BJ's Cake

I made Bj's cake for his birthday. The cost was about $1.50. He wanted an airplane cake so I took this airplane that I had and put it on there and then decorated around it. I would have normally used white frosting with blue or red edging but he wanted a super duper chocolate cake so I did it with chocolate frosting. The only problem was at first when I put it on there it sunk into the cake.

I took some cardboard , wrapped in foil and then put the plane on it and set it on the cake. Then the plane kept sliding off. Next time if I do something like this I will hot glue the plane to the cardboard and then put it on the cake.

You can use this with anything. I made a Swan Lake for Elly one time, a mermaid cake and car cake are just a few. Just find a toy they like, put it on there and decorate around it.

Just for future reference: If you take a few dowels -or toothpicks and place them in the cake under the wheels it will not sink. I use this constantly as I make all the niece's and nephew's birthday cakes. They would rather have a really cool cake than a run-of-the-mill present off some store shelf.
