Save $250!! Yeah!!

I am so excited! We just saved $250 doing 2 hours worth of work and spending $30! We are working on getting ready to put the house on the market and so we are getting everything all clean and fixed.

I rented a carpet cleaner to clean the kids bedrooms. They both have light beige (almost white) carpet and it was horrible! I figured we would just have to give the buyers a $500 credit for new carpet. The kids had smashed in blue playdough, spilled 4 different colors of glitter paint and who knows what else all over it! This was 3 years ago and I've tried everything to get it out. We finally had to get an area rug to put down in the boys room because I thought it was so gone we couldn't do anything with it.

Well, Mike used some stain remover and scraped off a bunch of the paint. Then he went over the boys carpet 3 times with the carpet cleaner. It looked MUCH better but we still couldn't get some of the red and blue stains out. Well, I got some bleach and a Q-tip and I put bleach on the spots! They came right out!! I am so excited I could just scream! The carpet looks brand new! Yeah!!!

Elly's looks much better too. It's still not real great but better than it was. We will probably still have to either get new carpet or give an allowance on it but at least we don't have to do the boys room now!!

Tawra, I am so glad the carpet came clean for you. I know all to well what damage children can do to carpet. Years ago when we had put new carpet into our house, my son decided to spray paint his skate board. That's right, no newspaper, not nothing under the skate board...on my less than 3 months old carpet was black spray paint. I was sick. No, nothing took the paint out. I too put a rug on the floor for years and years till we did away with carpet all together and put in wood floors. I love the wood. I will never go back to carpet.
This is Roxie. Hope the move goes well and you find the ideal house. Best of luck.
