Trying to keep up.
Hello everyone.
I'm sorry for the far and few between posts this summer. It's hard getting much done with the kids home from school. I can't believe that school starts in 7 weeks! Wow, it's going by fast!
Mike got an email interview for the job he applied for in Colorado. They asked for more info. and more samples of his work. This is one of those things we are just waiting to see what happens. We have prayed that if we are supposed to do it then everything will just fall into place. The thought of moving again is overwhelming but to "start fresh" again would be fun too. Not to mention to be back "home" again. Of course that would mean leaving mom and my brother here for now and we do help each other a lot so that would be hard.
We found out that the funding we were hoping for the cowtown video fell through and then the temp job with his former employer fell through, again. It's going to be interesting to see how this all works out. We have about 3 weeks of living expenses left right now using some of the insurance money from the roof. Summer is always the slowest time of year for books sales but we are doing better than the summers before. It's just not enough to support us and the business.
Right now I'm helping a friend re-decorate her bathroom and bedroom. It's an older house and needs lots of work but we are getting it done. We were able to buy everything for the bathroom for about $10 and everything for her bedroom including all new bedding and curtains and paint for about $40. We are using paint from the recycle center and have been going to the thrift store a couple times a weeks looking for items to match each other. The bedding and curtains were priced at $80 but we waited a week and they didn't sale so they marked them down to $40! Yeah!! What a deal. We got curtains for 2 windows, comforter, bedskirt, shams and 8 panels of curtains to use to make a canopy type thing on the wall behind her bed.
That's about all for now. I better run and get some "work" done! :-)

I found your blog through your living on a dime website. I bookmarked it. If our rent was 350 on the smallest budget form you had I think we would be heaven. Oh, to live only pay that much or even half of what we do. But, my comment on your post, I hope things work out with the job and so forth for your husband. Living pay check to pay check can be a killer sometimes. I will visit again soon. Thanks for all the tips.
Hey, I get your newsletter and just wanted to tell you that maybe you should also notify ebay and tell them about the lady who was "selling" the labels. Ebay values their rep as an ethical, honest company. I know this b/c one time my gparents ordered a digital camera on ebay and all they got was an empty envelope. They told ebay about it, and ebay told the guy that sold my gparents the camera that they would actually ban him from selling anything on ebay if he did not either make w/ the camera or refund their money. He refunded the money.
Best luck with your husband's job hunt.
I had a comment on your article about living thriftily fairly. We have 6 kids and one on the way, and I go to the store 3-4 times a week, getting two gallons of milk for our side by side fridge, we go through about a gallon a day. So when milk is on sale, like last week, $1.99 a gallon, limit two, I''m not going to change my pattern and go to a different store- the convience store at the gas station is 2nd cheapest- $2.19 a gallon, just beccause I'm buying my limit every other day. Same with bread- about one a day. Any comment? Tracy
