Our Easter

Well, today I went shopping for Easter basket fillings. I thought I would share what we are doing for Easter.

Clothes
I found BJ a suit 2 years ago at a yard sale for $3. It will fit him this year.
Elly- I got a dress at the thrift store for $2 and a hat at the $1 store.
David will wear something he already has. I couldn't find a small suit for him although I sure would have loved to see him in one!

Baskets:
Last year I bought after Easter, Easter grass (.20), extra plastic eggs (.25), and a couple of small toys ($1). I bought them a water balloon set at Big Lots for $5. I also had M&M's on clearance after Halloween for $1. I got David a bubble blower for $3. I will fill in with another bag or two of candy for about $3.

We are going to have an Easter brunch and egg hunt after church with my brother and his family and my grandparents from Colorado. (Yes, we did just see them last month on spring break. :-)

Then we are going to have a water fight afterwards since it will be almost 90. (Augh! That's just not right!)

We will decorate eggs with some kits I got last year for $1 and homemade egg dye.

That's what we are doing this year.

Happy Easter!
Tawra

I bet your kids are going to have a great time with their Easter baskets! I've still got to plow through the attic to find 2 more--I need five total. Can't wait for the after-Easter sales. I almost bought 2 new Easter baskets at CVS today--forget that, at $4 each. Geesh. I'll just fudge it if I can't find the other 2 (we're not talking little kids, anyway) and buy new baskets when they hit about a quarter each.
Buying stuff after a season is the best, isn't it? You put an idea into my head. My youngest turns 16 in June and wants to take some friends to the movies. I'll stock up on some after Easter candy and hide it so they can take that for their movie snack!

BTW, another place to look for after-holiday sales is down the Passover aisle! Last year I bought hazlenuts for practically nothing just because they were labelled for the holidays. You can't even find hazlenuts (I'm sure I didn't spell that right) most times, let alone for about a dollar a pound, LOL!
