Pray for me!

Ok, I'm going to take the plunge. I'm going to try and highlight my hair myself. I got a kit that was $10 with a brush that you just brush it on. I have dark brown hair with some gray so I'm starting to look kind of salt and peppery. ;-) It doesn't really look that bad but I would like a change. I've colored my hair before and I had success with it working as far as staying colored but it never does turn out the right shade.

I was going to have my hairdresser do it but I just can't bring myself to pay $55 right now. We are getting new pictures taken in two weeks for the website so I hope this isn't a mistake! If you see my picture and I have orange or green hair you will know what happened! LOL

Tawra (who is hair styling impaired so she hopes she isn't hair coloring impaired too! :-)

Well, well. I *just* highlighted my own dark brown, verging on the salt-and-pepperly hair last weekend, with a name brand kit I purchased at Big Lots for $2.99. I hadn't done anything like this in many, many a year. And, eh, so maybe it doesn't look like an entirely PROFESSIONAL job, it's a fun, welcome change and I do like it. Just be certain to read all the directions carefully, and see if you can possibly get a little help from someone (like your spouse?) for the back of your head. Good luck!

My hubby has colored my hair before and did a really good job! I haven't done it in years though. My mom used to help us highlight it in high school with those caps that you pull the hair through. Good luck!

Tawra-
I will pray for you and your hair andventure! Thank you so much for your wonderful site and book. I found you online almost 2 years ago and found your tips so inspiring and downright pefect. I'm a college student in Indiana and am studying to be a teacher. I will graduate this coming December and I have been using many of your tips (from cleaning to budgeting) for the better part of my college career. Best of luck to you and yours. (and your hair!) :)
