Potty Training is Done!
Ok, that's it we quit! I know that most kids go to kindergarten totally potty trained so I'm not going to worry about it any more.
What a mess! We have been trying to get David to poop in the toilet. Tried everything we can think of. Well, last night he was doing this high pitched screaming for an hour because he had to go but didn't want to. I left for Bible Study and left poor Mike to take over. Well, after another hour of screaming all over the house Mike went into the kitchen to get David some juice. He sat him on the toilet and said "stay there until I get back". Well, not 30 seconds later Mike heard the loud wailing like he was being killed. Mike runs in there and here he is running all over the place and flinging diarrhea as he's going! All over the walls, carpet, floor, toilet everywhere!
What a gross mess! When I came home he told me and we decided that was it for now. I think kids should be able to be trained by the time they are 3 but obviously we haven't figured out the secret for that one!
I just thought I would share the rest of the story! :-)

Tawra,
I am not 100% clear on the number of kids in your family, and their genders. I have 3 boys--the older 2 weren't potty trained until they were 3--my youngest will be 3 on March 13th, and he is trying--but its just not happening for him. My sister has girls the same ages as my boys--they were all trained 6-9 months before my kids. Boys just seem to take longer. They are stronger willed and less interested in potty training.
At least this has been my experience. Take heart, it al works out. It was almost like someone turned on a switch--one day they were in diapers, and the next day they were not.
Have a wonderful day!

Wow! This gave me a great big laugh since I'm the one who posted before that I'm in the middle of this too with my littlest guy. This sounds very much like the time my guy was stubbornly sure that he had to dump his potty himself and didn't need help. The mess was similar!
Neither of my girls were potty trained before they were 3. The nice thing about it was that they had very few accidents (and no BM ones) once they were finally trained. You are right to let it go for now. It will happen!

My 2 oldest boys were both PT'ed at about 3 1/2. My youngest is 2 so I'm praying for a sooner train. We shall see. Good luck sweetie!
