Medical Insuance. Ugh!

Good News:
We are going to be saving on our medical insurance premiums.

Bad News:
We were turned down for insurance because I have CFS and Fibromyaglia. Ugh!

I'm not sure why they turned us down since you can't really treat CFS and FM except with pain meds. We don't have any insurance right now since Mike quit his job. We were planning on buying it ourselves but now they won't accept us (me). We aren't sure what we are going to do. We just incorporated the business and we may be able to buy it through the corporation but it is going to be VERY expensive and now is the slowest time of the year for our business. (Real slow, I'm only shipping about 5 books a week. ;-(

We may try a few other places and see but this is certainly an interesting situation we have now. It will be cool to see how God works this out! :-)

Now that you are incorporated, see about a Health Savings Account or a Medical Savings Account. These only insure against major medical events and allow you to set money aside in a 'savings' account that can be used to pay for those other trips to the Dr and prescriptions. Unlike regular health insurance, you are confined to any particular Dr and it encourages you to take charge of your personal health issues to refrain from running to the Dr (when it only costs $10 co-pay). It makes you think about whether this is really a "Dr thing" or is this something we can treat with OTC medication. For the money that is in the savings account to use for spending, if it is not spent, you can carry it over for another year when it may be needed.

p.s. I used your Halloween costume ideas for a couple of "fashion" shows that I did before Halloween. One was for a women's chorale that I sing with and I prefaced it with saying that almost all of us have other ideas or hopes of what we would like to be and Halloween is a good time to live out those ideas/hopes. My second show was with my mixed sanctuary choir and I used all mail models. I actually had to bribe the guy who wore the Z-bra outfit.

I enjoy your e-mail/website.

My parents are self employeed and my father has had a couple of heart attacks so he has the same problem getting insurance. My father got a "major medical" plan and it mostly covers big medical expenses like hospitalizations and medical emergencies but not doctor visits. It also has a high deductable but it was more reasonably priced. Some states have a very basic insurance plan for lower income people. The health dept. in your state would know about it. The health dept. in my state(WA) does offer some basic health care for cash on a sliding income scale such as shots, prenatal, and infant and WIC( care for mom and baby under 3)

Hi, Tawra! Get your books out to Home School Conventions , State Fairs & thinhgs like that & I know you will be selling alot of them& making a profit. The people at the home school conventions for the state buy stuff like crazy, well, not me, I just don't have any money to do that, but couldn't believe the money pulled in, standing there watching people have a buying frenzy. I would be interested in setting up a booth at the Ohio convention, if we have a car that works by then, usually June. You could have people do this for every state& have several recipes from your book made up for people to sample. When is youer organizing book being done?? Well, if things could work out for that I would be interested , we'll see how it goes. Things have been some better this week . I have gotten the bills at least on payments where things won't be shut off, still no vechicle yet, my Uncle died yesterday, funeral is Friday. I appreciated your letter back , thanks for your prayers, keep praying , at least I have not felt so depressed about our situation this week. Blessings, lisa wilson
