Quality Shoes?

http://www.LivingOnaDime.com/

I purchased some new shoes, New Balance, the end of May. I like them because with my Fibromyalgia my feet hurt and this has helped a lot! Well, about a month ago the tops of the shoes started peeling. It was just one spot so I was going to let it go. Last week the entire top of both shoes was peeling. Usually these shoes last me 6 months before I need to buy new ones because they are broken down and then I move them to my "Yard work" shoes. They last me a long time in that state.

I was mad that I had spent almost $40 on shoes and they didn't even last 3 months!

I called the store, Shoe Carnival, and they were happy to exchange them for a new pair for me.

I was so thankful not to have to buy another pair because these were faulty.

It pays to ask when you get a product that doesn't stand up even when the stores return policy is 30 days.

BTW, I think I am going to try some higher priced Walmart shoes next time and see if they will last as long.

Even if the store wouldn't take them back I would have contacted New Balance directly. My aunt works for them (and even if she didn't) they stand behind their shoes.
Nike is pretty good too. My ex-fil had a pair of Nike's that the bottom started to come off and contacted Nike and he got a new pair without any problems.
I am glad things worked out for you.

I purchase shoes from walmart and they last from 3 to 6 monthes, they are cheap, I just bought two pair, one was 15.95 and the other marked down to 9.95. Forget the name brand shoes.

I hate buying shoes and trying to find comfortable ones. I take the opposite approach and go to Nordstrom when they are having their big sales. They are known for their shoes and if you live on either coast or in Chicago, I would HIGHLY recommend it. I bought a pair of Clarke's sandals three years ago for $39 and three summers later they are still going strong. My dress shoes have lasted similarly well. Just my two cents worth.

I know that most companies that are expensive, like Nike, and Sketchers have a return policy you ship them back and they will replace them. Nike is three years and sketchers I am not sure about the length of time. I buy them for that reason.
