Our New House

Here are some pictures of our new house...

We paid $135,000 in 2007 for a 2000 sq. ft., 3 bedroom and 2 bath home on 1 acre in South Central Kansas. (See Kansas does have some perks. hehehe)

Our house from the front

The section of the house with the two windows on the right was an addition of a living room, utility room/tornado shelter and master bedroom and bathroom 3 years ago.

Our bountiful backyard. Break out the shovel, Mike, and start digging my gardens!

Living Room

The living room with gas fireplace. (All furniture in the pictures is the former owners' furniture.)

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom. They left the curtains which I just love. I will have to find a comforter to match our bed now.

Master bathroom looking West

The wonderful fibromyalgia relief center aka the master bath with the deep jetted tub!

Not quite building an ark, but we did have to hurriedly figure out how to move all of our boxes up off the floor when 3 days after we moved in our garage flooded 3/4 of the way in.

The Septic System Project...

The Sea of "Black Gold" we found while trying to find the line out of the old septic tank

Day 3, when we finally moved in we were having strange smells in the back yard and couldn't flush the toilet while running the dishwasher. Hum... I wonder what could be wrong? :-)

Perforated pipe that had been incorrectly installed

Our "easy" septic tank replacement ended up being a huge mess with the entire system ruined.

Excavation for the Septic System from the back of the house

Putting the new tank in the ground. BJ, our mechanical man surveying the situation! ;-) Wide shot of the property from the rear of the house showing the digging on the right Our house now has the "money Pit" look

$12,000 later, Mike doesn't have to dig my garden for me after all! Wow! That's the most expensive square foot garden I've ever had! We were so close to being out of debt and POOF it all went down the toilet! hehehe :-)
