Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I have to have a web site or e-mail list to be an affiliate?

Yes. As an affiliate, you receive commissions for referring customers who end up buying our products. In order to be successful, you need a website, blog or e-mail newsletter with a lot of traffic. If you don't have a group of customers to refer who might be interested in our products, you will not make any money at affiliate sales.

Your instructions refer to a Clickbank ID. What is that and how do I get one?

When you sign up for Clickbank, you create a clickbank ID (also known as an "account nickname"). in order to create your affiliate link, you first need a Clickbank account so you can get paid. You can read about setting up a Clickbank account here.

What is a hoplink? How do I create one?

A hoplink is a specially coded link that identifies any customer that you send our way so that you get credit for the sale and earn a commission. You can find detailed instructions to create hoplinks here.

I'm an affiliate. How do customers find my sale page? Do you send them to me when they want to buy?

No. If a customer is already at our site, there is no need to pay anyone a commission if they buy. An affiliate's role is to find potential customers and refer them to our sales page. This is why affiliates get a commission for sales. The commission is for finding the customer and sending the customer to us. (Affiliate commissions are only paid for customers who actually make a purchase.)

Somebody sold me a program/web site and told me I can make a lot of money on affiliate sales, but I don't know what I need to do.

I recommend that you ask for a refund. If you paid for a program and the person did not adequately explain it to you, you didn't get what you paid for. Most reputable online companies will give you a refund if you request it.

How do I make a web site?

Unfortunately, this is beyond the scope of the help we can provide. I suggest that you visit Google and search for "How do I make a web site". (If you don't know how to get a site online, you should learn how to do it before you join the affiliate program.)

How much money can I make being a Living On A Dime Affiliate?

The amount of money that you can make depends on how well you market our products to your list or website and how well the content of your list relates to the content of our site. If you market our products aggressively and/or have a list that closely relates to ours (cooking, debt free living, homemaking), you can do quite well. If you create a link to our site on a catalog page full of other products and don't market it or if your list has no interest in our content, you won't do so well.

What kind of support does Living On A Dime offer to affiliates?

You can find item descriptions and marketing images on our affiliate page and on our e-book ordering page. Feel free to use them to market our products.

We sometimes send out useful marketing material to our affiliates including pre-made sales copy, but clickbank does not share your e-mail address with us. If you would like to be added to our affiliate e-mail list, please contact us and note that you want to be added to the e-mail list for affiliates.

Sometimes the affiliate hoplink points to a specific item. Do I get credit only for that item or for any item that a customer buys?

If a customer clicks on your hoplink and then buys an e-book from us, you will get a commission regardless of which e-book the customer buys. The affiliate program does not apply to sales of print books.
