The Active Word

Several readers have asked about our church. We go to church at Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale. We joke around that we are the Andover, KS branch because we watch it home with mom and my brother and his family.

We’ve decided to post a teaching from Pastor Bob here each Sunday for those of you would like to enjoy it also.

If you don’t have a church home and can’t attend then you can watch their services live here.

Eastern Standard Time:

Saturdays – 6pm

Sundays – 8am, 10:15am, 12:30pm

Wednesdays – 6:30pm

If you can’t watch it live, here is a message you might like:

From Pastor Bob

What’s A Warning Worth?

The Prophet Joel warns Israel of the coming calamity and from a variety of locusts consuming the crops. Pastor Bob points out that Joel’s warning demonstrates several character qualities of our loving God.

      Enjoy!

Tawra, I used to go to a Calvary Chapel here in Columbus, Ohio. Since you go to Ft. Lauderdale, did you know Mary Barrett while she was alive? She was wonderful. She came and did worship at one of our women’s retreats and I bought two of her CD’s. We now attend an Assembly of God church and are on the worship team. A while back, while she was alive, I emailed her and asked if I could perform her songs at our church. She emailed me back and said absolutely. So her songs are still being sung at an Assembly of God, and it blesses me when people there are like, “That is the prettiest song – I had never heard of it – where did you learn that?” :)

I attend Calvary Chapel of Murfreesboro, TN. I just thought it was cool to see that you guys go to Calvary Chapel, too. Most people in our area have never heard of Calvary Chapel so it’s rare that I meet others who attend one:)
